About Thriverton
Thriverton is run by Colleen and Ryan — a partnership built on craftsmanship, clarity, and purpose. From our countryside workshop in Lincolnshire, we create oak pieces with a calm, steady feel, shaped to bring warmth and intention into real homes.
Ryan’s background comes from over a decade in classic vehicle restoration — a world where precision, patience, and respect for materials are essential. That mindset guides everything he makes: clean lines, solid construction, and a methodical, detail‑driven approach at the bench.
Colleen brings design direction, logistics, customer experience, and day‑to‑day operations, shaped by years in corporate sales and key account management.
Together, we balance craft with clarity, creativity with structure, and always choose materials and methods that feel honest and purposeful.
Our approach is simple: choose natural materials, work with patience, and follow the grain rather than fight it. We handpick kiln‑dried, full tree‑width oak from a local sawmill, selecting each board for its integrity, movement, and suitability for the piece it will become.
Our work follows a steady, traditional workshop rhythm. Ryan takes each piece through the full making process: cutting and truing the boards, shaping profiles by hand one pass at a time, and refining the surface through several grades for a smooth, tactile feel. Traditional hard wax oils are applied in thin coats, followed by a hand‑buffed beeswax polish that keeps the wood warm, honest, and natural.
Every piece is handled, checked, and fitted several times before it leaves the workshop — a heritage way of working, slow, careful, and built on respect for the material.
We create handcrafted oak pieces for everyday living — from coat racks to desks to simple, functional storage for busy homes. Everything we make is designed to feel settled the moment it’s in your space.
Our work is rooted in countryside practicality: strong fixings, thoughtful proportions, tactile edges, and finishes that stand up to real use. Whether it’s a hallway, kitchen, or boot room, we make pieces that bring warmth, character, and purpose to the rooms you use most.
